connecting culture & heritage through custom art
Sophon lovingly pays homage to the Khmer recipes and Khmer-diaspora recipes that executive chef Karuna Long's great-grandmother taught his mom, Sophon, who subsequently passed them onto Karuna and his brothers. He shares his family’s story along with his culture’s history.
The mural depicts wildlife from Cambodia, featuring wetland species like the water buffalo and painted stork, alongside cascading flowers and vines. The pattern on the large hill is inspired by traditional ikat weaving, a magnificently complex and centuries-old craft.
